PERMISSION TO TALK ABOUT AGING, THE CHALLENGES OF CAREGIVING AND EVERYTHING IN BETWEEN

The Caring Generation with host Pamela D. Wilson will focus on the conversation of caring -- giving us permission to talk about aging, the challenges of caregiving and everything in between. You’re not alone – in fact you’re in EXACTLY the right place to share stories and learn tips and resources to help you and your loved ones. We’re here to create The Caring Generation. Please invite your loved ones, family, and friends to join us every Thursday at 9pm eastern. Talking about caregiving can be difficult. Aging parents hesitate to talk to adult children about needing care. And they don’t want to be a burden. Caregiving can feel like an impossible struggle. Caregivers may be torn between taking care of loved ones and trying to maintain balance in life. Caregiving is also hard work and many caregivers fear sharing their true feelings. Frustration, guilt, and judgment are common in caregiving situations. Pamela supports honest conversations – no guilt, no judgment – only solutions. If you’re not prepared, caregiving can be a struggle. The good news is that it doesn’t have to be.

Pamela D. Wilson, host of The Caring Generation, a caregiving expert, advocate, and author offers caregivers and aging adults proven solutions to life’s unexpected changes.
For over 20 years she was on call 24/7 as a court-appointed guardian, medical and financial power of attorney, personal representative of the estate, trustee, and care manager. Her experience as the legally responsible guardian and agent for clients gives her a unique perspective of the responsibilities of caregivers and gaps in the health care system.
Pamela’s expertise is supported by working with aging adults and their caregivers in thousands of one-on-one caregiving situations. Being on the ground in hospital emergency rooms, nursing homes, assisted living communities, memory, care and supervising in-home caregivers in the homes of client she has broad and far reaching experience about the good and bad in caregiving situations.

In addition to Pamela’s experience, her education and professional designations as a certified guardian and certified senior advisor support broad knowledge of what happens in caregiving – that caregivers and aging adults find it hard to imagine until it happens to them.
Whether you are trying to help a loved one stay at home, managing medical care, working with the healthcare system, acting as power of attorney or guardian, or many of the other issues that happen in caregiving, Pamela has the answers.

Tracie – Thank you for the comment, so appreciated. Family care relationships can be challenging. My upcoming shows will continue to share tips about caregiving relationships and health tips. I have a great guest coming up on 8/21 who will be talking about women’s health and how to be proactive beginning in mid-life so that we are all healthier in our later years. Pamela.
